We ask all F.P.S.S Members, Friends & Supporters to Support the trully amazing efforts of Terry Hicks
The ongoing struggle and sadness of devoted father Terry Hicks has moved Sydney artist Diarne Wiercinski to complete a portrait that will be used to raise funds for his ongoing campaign.
Diarne said the painting is not necessarily a political statement, nor is it only about David Hicks.
"My painting is about a father who has been stoically standing by his son for the past five years and whose pain and suffering in these circumstances is obvious to all," she said.
"That is what I wanted to capture in the portrait.
"I am an artist not a politician but I feel sad about many aspects of the Hicks situation, as well as the way Australian society is evolving in terms of tolerance for other cultures and just the general lack of unity across our community," Diarne said.
"However, the main objective of this exercise is just to bring a little more sunshine into Terry Hicks' life."
The painting will auctioned on eBay for two weeks from Tuesday 31 October.
