Year End Message from Iris - 20th December 2005

To All Friends and Supporters of J4NB

Well, here we are at the end of 2005, you will all know that Nicks appeal did not turn out as we expected and Nick is now serving time in Fuchu prison. I will not make a statement about my feelings about Nick's trial and appeal as I know you are all well aware of my thoughts and opinions!!! Together with Nicks support group we will be working towards getting Nick transfered back to the UK as soon as possible.

J4NB still has the continued support of Fair Trials Abroad, The Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP, Norman Lamb MP and other MP's, Kay Danes and the FPSS, together with many hundreds of supporters all around the world. Support for Nick still grows daily which is amazing really.

Nick and I have been so fortunate to have a world-beating support group in Japan who are still 100% behind Nick, we will never be able to thank these people enough - they have looked after Nick like he was one of their own family, their knowledge, love and kindness has been amazing. We have also been so lucky in having a person with super technical knowledge that has keep the website up and running, this website has been praised by thousands for it help and support not only to Nick, but to many others, on behalf of Nick and from myself we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

We also need to thank everyone who has helped raise funds and to those who have sent donations. With special thanks to Kath in NZ and her friends in Australia. I also need to thank the many people in and around the area that I live in in the UK their kindness and support as been wonderful - many donations came in anonymously and we thank all of you.

Nick and I now have so many new friends and in particular, Nick as many friends from different Church bodies around the UK, they have made donations and written to him - so special thanks to you all.

Thanks to all those of you who have sent such wonderful letters full of interesting information and of course Nick's beloved sport items, this has all helped to keep Nicks spirits high. I know you will continue to write to Nick in 2006.

I think at this time of year we must all spare a thought for all those families with relatives in prisons around the world, I know how hard it is for you all and you will all be in my thoughts.

I hope everyone will light a candle Christmas Day and New Years Eve for all of these people.

Finally, can I take this opportunity from myself and Nick to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year, we look forward to your continued support and friendship in 2006.

with fondest thoughts and warmest wishes

Iris Baker (on Behalf of Nick)
