Prisoners wait anxiously for King's Pardon

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
9 June 2006 marks the sixtieth anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

It is traditional in Thailand, for significant anniversaries such as this one, to lead to prisoner pardons and sentence reductions.

FPSS are hoping that many of the prisoners listed at our Thai prison sections, many with life sentences, will receive good news and with it, an opportunity to be reunited with their loved ones.

We are thankful for the mercy shown by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and pray that those pardoned will seize the opportunity to become a shining inspiration to others.

Long Live the King!
