"It is an honour for me to be able to support HAIS in addition to the human rights work I do currently with FPSS" says Kay Danes. "There are many Hmong throughout the world that need support, not only in Laos, some suffer terribly simply because of their ethnicity.'

The Hmong Advocacy International Services (HAIS), an Australian-based organization, was launched on 18th September 2004 in Melbourne, Australia.

HAIS is a non-profit, non-political and multinational organization focused on responding to a broad range of issues in support of the Hmong people around the world. HAIS is dedicated to provide education, information, advocacy and support.

HAIS is supported by volunteers from across the globe who come from different backgrounds and with different beliefs but all share a common focus - to seek ways to ENHANCE the life of the Hmong people no matter where they live; and to fulfill the desire that the Hmong can fully participate in and integrate into the countries in which they live; and that they may live in peace and prosperity with the same freedom, equality, and justice that is their right as members of the International Community.

At the launching of HAIS, Mr. Vue Thaow said, "As founder of HAIS, I remain conscious of the enormity of our mission. We will do what we can and with what resources we have from wherever we are in the world and always with pure intentions in our hearts. We will consistently strive to do our best at all times. We may not achieve everything we set out to do, but we will not shy away from trying. We sincerely believe that as long as the cause is just and our intentions are pure, we can be assured that there is hope in everything we do. Whether we will succeed in all our goals or not, history will be the judge".

Dr Pao Saykao added that, "We hope that many people will be encouraged to join with us, in whatever capacity they can, to provide genuine support for the Hmong people. Each of us has our own ideas and dreams and not all our beliefs will be exactly the same, but we believe that through open dialogues and friendship we will discover new ways to promote peaceful solutions and secure a promising future for the Hmong people."
