THONBURI REMAND PRISON |

Established in 1994 Thonburi Remand Prison is one of
the three remand prisons in Bangkok area. It takes in custody
of remandees and convicted prisoners whose sentence term are not over
7 years or not over 14 years in case of elderly prisoners. As of January 2005, there are
3,396 prisoners and 256 prison staff.

Central Correctional Hospital is a correctional referral center for
sick inmates from prisons in Bangkok and vicinity. It accommodates 500
inmate-patients and fully equipped with medical facilities such as 4 major operating rooms, 4
dental units, medical and dental film less digital X-ray system,
tele-medicine (psychiatry and radiology), etc.

This prison is located about 7 kilometers east of Phitsanuloke in central Thailand. It is easily accessible by local bus, which stops at the prison gate.

BOMBAT HOSPITAL |

Bombat is listed as being a hospital. It measures 60x30m and contains only sleeping quarters
(Rooms 24’x14’) and factories of low-tech manufacturing.
The official ‘hospital’ is 2 small rooms, one for taking urine samples for
drug tests on new inmates/victims. The other is set aside for minor surgical procedures.
